The In Between

This is a poem I recently wrote, inspired by painting and drawing a model and working with other artists. Sometimes I express myself through words:

In between spaces

is the new exhibition

The view of the spaces between arms and legs

Trees and rocks

In between the conscious and subconscious state

More of late

The energetic connection between two people

Two artists, two forms of art

The connection of hearts

Everything in between

Nothing mean

In the space between

Is there another word for that?

Betwixt

‘tween

Really?

Betwixt is a state that is not fixed

Like a pause on Netflix

Like the hypnogogic state

Just before you wake

It interests me

What can I learn by being aware of in between states?

The forms that I see

Empty spaces

Distant places

All in between

Betwixt the head and the arms

The legs and the wall

Depicting what?

What is it that you see, Kathy?

It’s all important to me!

I wont know until I’ve drawn it onto the page

Not rage

Won’t know ’til I’ve felt it

A sense of calmness

I won’t know until I have experienced it in my own dream

A knowing is happening

Won’t know ’til the paint’s on the paper

I see you, no really, I SEE you

It’s a peaceful place

Serenity?

Possibly.

Lovingly

Compassionately

I open up my heart to humanity

I open up my senses for knowings and intuitive messaging

The space in between

It wants to be seen

I got my theme

It’s

In between
