Kathleen Amos Eichhorn art therapist and artist

Kathy lives and works in Austria in beautiful Sulz im Wienerwald - in the Vienna woods. In June 2024 she moved her studio home and took her art therapy on the road.

Art therapists, artists and museum curators would agree that a picture tells a story. Did you know that it is also a helpful tool in an art therapy session? It is a form of non-verbal communication. Art created by a client in the therapeutic setting always tells a deeper truth. Kathy warmly welcomes you with an open heart and a plethora of art supplies, to work with her in your home or residential facility. She also offers online art therapy for clients in different time zones. Kathy has also been working as an art therapist at Therapiesalon im Wald www.therapiesalon.at in beautiful Edlach an der Rax since June of 2023.

As an artist she is always creating: at the moment she is creating her new studio. As well as exhibiting locally. She is very passionate about recycling! Her paintings are for purchase. Since she truly believes that the arts are healing she wants to share them with you.

Kathy studied art (University of California, Santa Barbara: BA 1989) and interior design (Academy of Art College, San Francisco: BFA 1992) in California before moving to Europe. She taught English in schools and kindergartens in Lower Austria before going back to school. She earned her degree in art therapy from the Sigmund Freud University in Vienna (MA 2020). She worked as an artist in her studio in Sulz from 2014 until 2024.

“I loved it! You have a gentle, calming voice that put me to ease. … It has made my journey in wanting to find a new place to live clearer, because (what I drew) truly represents an energy that I want.”
